The Hermitage
This room was built during a NAME
Mini Weekend held near Nashville, TN in April, 2002. It is a near replica
of the entrance hall of The Hermitage, the home of Andrew Jackson and his
wife Rachael. The project was designed by Penny Champion, who visited the
original and measured everything.
Here is a different angle. the portrait
over the doorway is Rachael Jackson; the bust is Andrew Jackson.
Penny even managed to produce copies
of
the original wallpaper!
The main feature of the room is,
of course,
the grand curved stairway.
